How PDF Sevak handles your files
17 of our 20 tools run entirely inside your browser and never upload your file. The other 3 send it over an encrypted connection to our server in India, process it in a temporary folder, send the result back to your browser and erase the server’s copies in the same request, usually within seconds. We keep no copies, show no ads, use no third-party trackers and need no account.

These tools are JavaScript that your browser downloads with the page. Your document is opened and changed in your device's memory, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing about the file's contents or name is sent to us. The PDF libraries we use (pdf-lib and Mozilla's pdf.js) are open source and served from our own domain, not from a third-party CDN.
Check it yourself: load a tool page, switch off Wi-Fi and mobile data, then use the tool. It still works, because no upload happens. If a browser cannot finish a job, we ask before offering to use our server instead, and nothing is uploaded unless you press “Upload and process”.
Encrypted upload
OCR in Indian languages and AES-256 encryption need software that cannot run well in a browser yet. These tools, and Compress PDF only if you choose “Try our server instead”, work like this:
- Your file is uploaded over HTTPS to our server, which runs in a DigitalOcean data centre in India. It is not passed to any other company, API or AI service.
- It is written to a new, randomly named temporary folder used only for your request.
- The tool runs, and the result is streamed back to you.
- The temporary folder is deleted as soon as the response is sent. As a safety net, any folder left behind by a crash is removed within an hour.
- Passwords you type for Protect or Unlock are used for that one operation and never stored or logged.
What we do count
We keep simple visitor statistics so we know how the site is used. For each page view we count the page, where the visit came from (for example Google, WhatsApp or another website), the type of device and operating system, and the country and state. The country and state are worked out on our own server from your IP address using a location database stored there (IP geolocation by DB-IP). Your IP address itself is not stored and is not sent to anyone.
To count unique visitors without tracking anyone, we turn your IP address and browser type into a one-way code mixed with a random value that is replaced every day. The code works only for that day, cannot be turned back into your IP address, and is deleted after two days. We use no cookies or device IDs for this.
To know which tools people use, we keep daily totals such as “Compress PDF was used 140 times today, on the server”. None of these numbers contain a file name or anything from your file, and none can be linked to you.
PDF Sevak Pro and payments
When you buy Pro we store your name, email, optional phone number, the plan, the payment and order IDs, and your Pro key, so that we can give you access, send your receipt and help if something goes wrong. Payments are handled by Razorpay: we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay's checkout script loads only after you press a Buy button.
To remember your Pro key, your browser keeps the key and a random browser ID in its local storage, and our server records that browser ID against the key so the plan's browser limit can be applied. Batch processing handles files exactly like the single-file tools above.
If you send us a Pro enquiry, we store what you type only to reply to you. We do not sell or share any of this. Email us to have your details deleted.
